To display animations on the FIESP building's media facade (Sao Paulo, Brazil) is truly a unique experience for everyone involved (see Crossroads project): for city dwellers it serves as a 'Super Sign' that helps to identify the location of FILE Media Arts Festival, for media artists it becomes a blank canvas in the enormous size of a skryscraper. As inherent part of the FILE Media Arts Festival and of the exhibition itself the 'Augmented Architecture Installation' gives additional access to created artworks. A small scale architectural model of the FIESP building was augmented through projection throughout the FILE Festival from July until September 2018. As such the installation serves as a medium to give visitors access to an archive of former created animations of past festivals, actual curated works, and can serve as a test-bed for future developments.

The copyright of the animations that are visible in the pictures below remain with the individual artists that participate in FILE Festival 2014–2018. Model by Barkin Simsek (NYUAD).
